Gumdrop Cookies

Makes: 6 dozen


1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 cup chopped assorted fruit


Beat together butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until creamy. Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt, add to creamed mixture, blending well. Stir in oats and fruit. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
